Position Overview:
The Accountant plays a pivotal role in developing accurate and organized client financial records in accordance with GAAP. This role is responsible for establishing and recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, processing payroll, generating essential financial reports, and analyzing financials to communicate to the client. The Accountant ensures that the client's financial data is up-to-date, compliant with regulations, and serves as a reliable source of information for informed decision-making. Attention to detail, accuracy, and a strong understanding of accounting principles are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Handle all aspects of accounting, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable by processing invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation.
- Account Reconciliations: Confirm that financial records, such as bank statements, ledger entries, invoices, and payments, are accurately reflected in the accounting system through monthly reconciliation.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for review and presentation to the client.
- Month-End Closing: Complete the month-end closing process by recording journal entries, accruals, and other tasks.
- Payroll Processing: Accurately calculate compensation, manage deductions and benefits, maintain timekeeping records, generate reports, and ensure legal compliance on a weekly and bi-weekly basis.
- Budget Preparation: Create a detailed financial plan for clients, including estimating income, forecasting expenses, and allocating resources to align with goals.
- Year-End Tax Filing: Process W-2s and 1099s accurately and in compliance with regulations.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve accounting issues caused by multiple users with varying accounting knowledge, ensuring the accuracy of transactions.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including filing, data organization, and document management.
- Maintain Privacy and Integrity of Client Data: Ensure compliance with firm policies on handling personally identifiable information (PII).

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related major.
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Practical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- 4 years of accounting experience required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
