Overview
Maintains and analyzes various types of revenue, expenses, and related responsibilities for Advantage Care Health Center that comply with governmental and regulatory authority requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements for Health Center including year-end closing. Records monthly journal entries, reconciliation of bank accounts. Prepare necessary schedules/sub-ledger to support the financial statements. Respond to problems that may arise and take corrective actions.
- Assist in the completion of the cost report and other regulatory requirements.
- Participates in Health Center audit process. Analyzes accounts by defining, describing, and verifying numerical data for accuracy and reconciling to relevant information.
- Assists in preparation of the Health Center’s budget using financial statements, projected changes, and estimated revenues.
- Prepare and record monthly units report and revenue, grants, and other sources of revenues.
- Lead AP. Responsible for the posting of invoices and preparation of monthly vouchers for Federal, State, City, and other grants.
- Assists in collecting/documenting special projects and grants.
- Analyze and generate revenue cycle claims and related reports.
- Understand the basics of billing claims to insurance (Medicare/Medicaid rules). Knowledge of medical/dental billing for payer specific (NYS Medicaid) and third-party payers. Analyze aging reports, identify lost revenue, and implement strategies to minimize write offs.
- Work directly with third party billing vendor on collection and reconciliation of patient AR and knowledgeable on sliding fee application, discuss idle and unpaid third-party payer claims with Billing company. Monitor financial data related to the revenue cycle and make recommendations for improvements or changes as needed.
- Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in accounting. Two (2) years’ experience in an FQHC or similar industry required. Experience in medical billing is required. Computer proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite applications required as well as experience in utilizing Blackbaud accounting software, ECW, and Sage Intacct. Experience in FQHC regulations/requirements, account analysis experience required, and in-depth CFR reporting experience strongly preferred.
