What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Teller position at Advantage Credit Union?
Advantage Credit Union, voted Jasper County’s #1 financial institution, is looking for a full-time Teller to join our team! Our Tellers are vital to the credit union and are responsible for ensuring members have an outstanding experience with us, whether it’s in person at the teller line, on the phone, or in the drive-up.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following are fundamental duties that an individual who holds the position must perform. This is not an exhaustive list. Other duties, in addition these essential job functions, will be assigned at the discretion of management.
- Responsible for comprehensive, prompt, and efficient member transactions.
- Work with members to find solutions and cross-sell products, services, and other financial information that is helpful to our members.
- Responsible for verifying checks/cash for proper endorsements, amounts, dates, counterfeit, altered, or fraudulent before processing transactions.
- Process mail and night drop deposits for posting.
- Balance cash at the end of the shift and compare totaled amount to computer generated proof sheet. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Process loan payments for consumer, mortgage, and credit card programs.
- Report malfunctions of technology equipment to the appropriate supervisor.
- Provide prompt & courteous service to members by answering phones and transferring calls to appropriate staff as needed.
- Assist members in accessing Safe Deposit Box per credit union policy.
- Schedule appointments for members who visit the credit union and communicate with credit union staff about appointment arrivals and member needs.
- Assist with maintaining Vendor/Visitor log.
- Assist in keeping the lobby clean and stocked of supplies to enhance the member experience (water, coffee, brochures, mints, pens, etc.).
- Keep the night drop supplies stocked (pens, envelopes).
- Prepare new member letters and closed account letters.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Prior experience cash handling is required.
- 10 Key Skills.

Frequent sitting and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Moderate levels of walking, standing, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Fine motor skills required including tasks such as picking, pinching, or manipulating objects with the fingers. Grasping tasks involve applying pressure using the fingers and palm. Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers are also involved.
