What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Scientist/Geologist position at Advantage Environmental Consultants, LLC?
Advantage Environmental Consultants, LLC (AEC) is currently seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer/Scientist in our Philadelphia Area office. The successful candidate must have a solid educational background and be self-motivated with a professional attitude. They will join our team of engineers/scientists that work on a variety of projects including site investigation, environmental compliance, evaluation of remedial alternatives, design, and implementation of remedial systems and/or construction management. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of project managers and/or principals.
Between field work projects, you will work in a professional office setting, preparing detailed and accurate field documentation, data analysis and reporting.
Typical Responsibilities May Include:
Perform outdoor, all-season field tasks such as drilling, test pits, soil / groundwater sampling, hazardous building materials surveys, construction oversight, monitoring, etc.
Work on all phases of projects (due diligence, site investigation, field work, data evaluation, regulatory permitting, design, engineering analysis, construction and/or implementation management and documentation, and any close out monitoring)
Monitoring and documenting various aspects of remedial construction projects
Conducting technical analyses/calculations
Interpreting various site-specific data to make conclusions and/or recommendations
Regulatory permitting and reporting
Performing engineering computation and analysis of subsurface data
Writing drafts of field and engineering reports, technical specifications, and related bid documents
Develop construction plans
Preparing construction cost/quantity estimates
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology or related discipline required (Master’s Degree a plus)
1 year of related environmental experience in the fields of site investigation, remediation, environmental compliance, hazardous building materials, is a plus
Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations is a plus
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
Ability to follow direction, and work independently and in a team setting
Strong communication skills, problem solving and organizational skills
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification, including 8-hour annual refresher certificates, is a plus
Ability to travel locally and regionally
A valid driver’s license in good standing and a reliable vehicle
