Browning Heavy Haul is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Trucking Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the efficient transport of heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, and other oversized loads. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and permitting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, schedule, and dispatch drivers for heavy haul loads across various locations.
* Ensure all shipments are compliant with DOT regulations, including securing the necessary permits for oversized and overweight loads.
* Maintain clear communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
* Monitor and address issues during transport, such as delays, route changes, or mechanical problems.
* Utilize dispatching software to manage schedules, track shipments, and optimize routes.
* Collaborate with drivers and safety teams to ensure proper handling of heavy equipment.
* Maintain detailed records of permits, driver logs, equipment status, and dispatch activities.
* Stay updated on industry regulations and changes that impact heavy haul operations.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in dispatching, preferably in heavy haul or specialized transport.
* Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, including dozers, excavators, and loaders.
* Experience with DOT permitting processes and a solid understanding of DOT regulations.
* Proficiency in using dispatching software and other relevant tools.
* Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous experience in the heavy haul or construction industry.
* Familiarity with GPS tracking and logistics software.
* Knowledge of regional and national transport routes.
