Advantage Resourcing Ruston is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist for a well-established tire shop in Ruston, LA. Our client has provided tire, repair, and maintenance services locally for over 60 years. Keep reading to learn more on how to apply today!
Pay : $17 / hr - $23 / hr
Shift : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM (in-office)
As an Accounting Specialist, you will manage accounts payable, organize financial transactions, maintain filing systems, and assist with clerical tasks, working independently with moderate supervision. Your responsibilities include processing supplier invoices, reviewing product pricing, reconciling monthly account statements, and resolving discrepancies. You will ensure timely supplier payments, taking advantage of cash discounts, and review the A / P aging report for unpaid items or errors. Additional duties include reconciling monthly credit card statements, submitting national account billing transactions, posting ACH deposits, assisting with collections, and handling retread activity and inventory setup. You will investigate inventory discrepancies, remit sales tax to government entities, and provide clerical support to management. Maintaining an organized filing system, ensuring compliance with government reporting requirements, and preparing daily bank deposits will also be part of your role.
Qualifications :
- Associate's degree in accounting or business administration (or equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and general ledger posting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Highly dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills and respect for confidentiality
- Minimum of 2 years accounting experience (non-entry level)
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision
