ASCI has an upcoming opportunity for a full-time experienced Appliance Mechanic for our government customer, where you will handle corrective and preventive maintenance for all appliances using required tools of the trade.

Summary Of Duties
Installs, services, and repairs stoves, refrigerators, dishwashing machines, and other electrical household or commercial appliances using hand tools, test equipment and following wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications.Connects appliance to power source and test meters, such as wattmeter, ammeter, or voltmeter, observes readings on meters and graphic recorders. Examines appliance during operating cycle to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, and loose parts. Disassembles appliances and examines mechanical and electrical parts. Traces electrical circuits following diagram and locates shorts and grounds using ohmmeter, calibrates timers, thermostats, and adjusts contact points, cleans and washes parts using wire brush, buffer, and solvent to remove carbon, grease, and dust. Replaces worn or defective parts such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers, and defective wiring. Repairs and adjusts appliance motors, reassembles appliance, adjusts pulleys, and lubricates moving parts, using hand tools and lubricating equipment. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Experience & Education Requirements
Must have current EPA 608 Certification.Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have two (2) years' experience and specific knowledge in maintenance either through schooling or verifiable on the job experience. Must complete and pass a National Agency Background Check. Must have a valid and current state driver's license. Must be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle. Must understand and be able to use Technical Manuals. Must be able to complete paperwork associated with maintenance and repairs. Must possess basic computer skills. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must get a CAC within the first 30 days of employment. Must be able to receive a Secret security clearance, if required.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.Frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance, and taste or smell. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. Noise level in the work environment is usually loud or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.

The contract enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. As appropriate, each employee is responsible for completing all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks, and serving on safety committees and teams.
Travel
Travel may include moving vehicles from point A to point B (local travel only).
