What are the responsibilities and job description for the TSA Security Training Instructor (STI) position at Advantage SCI?
Join the Advantage SCI team in its critical support to Securing Travel and Protecting People. Advantage SCI supports the TSA Screening Partnership Program across U.S. Airports. In this role, you will help safeguard the American way of life. In cities across the country, you would secure airports, seaports, railroads, highways, and/or public transit systems, thus protecting America's transportation infrastructure and ensuring freedom of movement for people and commerce.
Required Experience:
The required minimum skills and experience for this key person are presented below:
- The candidate must be a U.S Citizen and be able to obtain a Secret clearance
In addition, at least one of the following experience requirements must be met:
- Minimum of two (2) years adult-learning classroom instruction experience; or Instructor certification from a recognized instructor-training program (e.g., ASTD, CTTI); or
- Formal instructor training from FLETC or recognized source (e.g., U.S. military, Federal training program, college/university or trade school, or private corporation)
Additionally, contractor STIs shall be screener certified and meet any recurrent training, evaluation and recertification requirements established by TSA in order to remain qualified for the training and screening functions. Instructors shall maintain certification for all areas they deliver training, including passenger, baggage and dual-function training. The instructor shall also meet the following criteria in order to instruct TSA material: An STI shall successfully complete screener training and an initial certification training course provided by TSA to become qualified. In addition, prior to delivery of nationally developed TSA training, all Train-the-Trainer and specific course certification requirements shall be fulfilled. Contractor STIs shall also complete annual quality assurance assessments and shall receive a grade of “Meets Expectations”. STIs shall perform TSO screening duties for at least 20% of their work time. STIs performing screening functions to shall not be assigned as supervisory screening role on a regular basis.
