A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT ENGINEER
As a Project Engineer, your work is essential to our success. You manage quantity take-offs, prepare proposals, and obtain quotes from suppliers and purchase material. With attention to detail, you schedule updates and track work performed. You also accurately input costs into our database for full tracking.
Highly collaborative, you develop relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and quality control personnel. You assist project managers and other team members with submittals, material management, subcontract management, and project supervision. Additionally, you help with requests for information (RFI) development.
On a continuous basis, you work to develop your professional knowledge and abilities. You get great satisfaction out of growing professionally while helping your team to complete important projects successfully!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PROJECT ENGINEER IN THE FABRICATION SHOP
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related discipline, or the equivalent experience.
- Experience with fabricated steel projects
- Experience with AISC/AWS D1.1 & 1.5 welding & fabrication codes desired.
- Strong desire to work in the construction industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee and Team Members without proper safety precautions. This position may require working around heavy equipment and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. Team Members will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies due to these safety risks.
Experience with fabricated steel projects is preferred as is experience with AISC/AWS D1.1 and 1.5 welding and fabrication codes. Are you organized with an eye for details? WORK SCHEDULE FOR A PROJECT ENGINEER
The schedule for this full-time position depends on project needs but is typically 40 hours /week, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. You will have the opportunity to work in the office as well as in the fabrication shop.
