What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at Advantage Technical?
- Manage buying deck comprised of precision and functional injection molded plastics, cold formed and machined metal components
- Meet and exceed annual SCM direct material cost savings targets
- Nominate qualified new suppliers to cross-functional team for review and consideration
- Quote and source all responsible components to meet and exceed product line business case and timing requirements utilizing the Total Acquisition Cost Model
- Monitor and track supplier performance and initiate actions to improve supplier performance
- Schedule and participate in VA/VE workshops
- Develops commodity strategies within commodity organization
- Makes commercial agreements with suppliers
- Resolves commercial issues with suppliers
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
- 3 years of purchasing experience, preferably within automotive industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage 20 suppliers
- Strong communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Excel
- Familiarity with MRP system
- Willingness to travel up to 15%
- Knowledge of injection molding, cold forging, and metal machining processes
