Downstream Project Engineer

The Downstream Project Engineer, located at the Ponca City Refinery, is accountable for project management activities, including FEED, detailed design and construction support for the Ponca City Refinery Technical Services. The Project Engineer must be capable of managing multiple projects from $300,000 up to $3,000,000 in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing single point of accountability for project management and project expertise.
• Managing project costs, project schedule, project resources, technical competency, environmental requirements, and safety.
• Interacting with Process and Instrument/Electrical Engineers to coordinate project activities and coordination of assigned resources for completion of projects to meet project timeframes.
• Participating in and supporting the use of the Front-End Loading, Detail Design, and other demonstrated best practices in the execution of projects.
• Partnering with customers to develop project charters, secure funding, engineer projects, support construction, complete project safety start-up reviews, and aid through the startup of projects.
• Conducting technical and commercial bid evaluations.
• Managing vendor scopes of work and package delivery through to commissioning.
• Coordinating project status's and technical design reviews with key stakeholders and internal engineering resources to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborating with peers and work groups. (Areas, Inspection, PSM, Turnarounds and Projects).

Required Qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering field (Mechanical or Civil)
• 2 or more years of experience within the refining or petrochemical industry.
• Must have a current valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 or more years of experience managing capital or expense projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications.
