Job Summary:
The Sr. Metrology Quality Technician will create, validate, and troubleshoot CMM programs and perform precision inspections (including FAIs) to ensure product compliance with all requirements. Support engineering in new product development and investigations, providing feedback, early involvement in drawing reviews, and measurement capability evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and operate CMMs/vision systems to ensure products meet specifications and drawings.
- Resolve issues from Operators, Inspectors, and Engineers.
- Train inspectors and technicians.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineering to ensure accurate setups and programs.
- Lead or participate in special projects related to tooling, fixtures, and gages.
- Identify and implement cost-reduction projects using Lean principles.
- Create and troubleshoot CMM programs; perform validation and verification.
- Take critical measurements using gauges, fixtures, and other tools.
- Provide inspection support across all departments, including FAIs.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T and metrology principles.
- Experience in mechanical inspection of precision parts in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong CMM programming skills and proficiency with inspection tools.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail.
- Good communication and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Additional Information:
- Pay Range: $35-41/hour (based on experience)
- Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
