Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location(s): Ottawa, IL
Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000
About this position:
The primary function of the Quality Engineer is to conduct audits to assess compliance with ISO standards, review documentation, processes, and procedures, identify non-conformities and areas for improvement, provide recommendations for corrective actions and issue audit reports. This position reports to the Quality Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, and continually improve multiple Management System according to ISO standards.
- Conduct site wide training.
- Support and actively participate in Company 6S program, Lean Programs, or similar company programs.
- Assure that documented methods are followed.
- Provides support for customer audits and meetings (onsite, online, etc.)
- Responsible for the generation of Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) 8D form to address and resolve quality issues, customer complaints, and audit findings.
- Ensure ISO document control’s completeness and assist with internal and external ISO audits.
- Informs quality assurance management of potential quality and/or regulatory issues that may impact product quality and regulatory compliance.
- Performs risk management analysis to support quality oversight activities.
- Ensure follow up and completion of NCMR reporting.
- Performs and completes any other projects or tasks assigned to you.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or relevant experience
- 5-years’ experience in related industry and production/manufacturing preferred
- Prior team building, and collaboration experience and skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance and control methodologies including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts, theories, and practices.
- Strong understanding, adherence, and compliance with standard operational procedures, guidelines, and instructions
- Working knowledge of international standards and regulatory requirements including but not limited to ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 27001, ISO14001, and ISO 45001
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and compliance
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, must be a self-starter.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and good oral presentation skills.
- Possess excellent time and organizational skills with multitask ability.
- Technical aptitude and ability to explain technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Analytical problem solving- ability to identify problems, define problem statement clearly and accurately, and apply structured and disciplined methodology to identify data driven root causes.
