Assembly Technician – Job DescriptionKey Job Responsibilities
- Champion safety standards across all work zones and locations
- Assemble and test a variety of avionics LRUs, electro-mechanical assemblies, fiber optics, and PCBAs with a strong attention to detail
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of lab equipment
- Support preventive maintenance tasks on test equipment and data acquisition systems
- Identify equipment needs, drive process improvements, and manage floor stock inventory
- Independently prioritize and execute tasks to meet production schedules and company deliverables
- Perform component and system-level testing per documented test procedures
- Receive and process shipments; coordinate deliveries using pallet jacks, kit carts, and related equipment
- Contribute to the development and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work flexible hours across all shifts (1st Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM | 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM), including overtime and weekends as needed based on program demands
- Flexible commuting between site locations as required
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, climb ladders, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, and stretch as needed
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- 3 years of experience in high-traceability manufacturing (e.g., Aerospace, Medical Devices, or related industries)
- 2 years of hands-on experience with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, or Harness Integration
- 1 year of experience in a fast-paced production environment
- Proficient in using precision tools and inspection equipment, including:
- Torque wrenches (manual and automated), torque drivers
- Calipers, micrometers, profilometers
- Optical inspection tools, multi-meters
- Standard hand tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) and/or Avionics certification/license
- ASE certification and/or equivalent automotive or mechanical experience
- CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician) certification or related fiber-optic handling experience
- Skilled at reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents
- Experience working with:
- FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control practices
- ESD-sensitive hardware
- Cleanroom requirements and environments
- Strong team collaboration skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing work environment
- Prior military experience is a plus
- Knowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma)
- Proficiency with ERP systems and manufacturing software
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
