Position: E/M Coder
Department: Coding
Reports To : AVP, Coding Operations
Job Summary
The Certified Professional Coder will be responsible for managing all aspects of coding. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare billing regulations and coding guidelines. The professional has a high level of knowledge, skill, and experience in increasingly complex areas of revenue cycle.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management and coding
- E/M experience; minimum 2 years
- Strong knowledge of healthcare billing regulations, coding guidelines, and payment systems
- Certified Coder through AAPC or AHIMA
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and other stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field, preferred
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee coding for assigned clients
- Able to communicate effectively with client
- Review of coding for denial prevention and writing effective appeals for coding related denials
- Ensure compliance with billing and coding regulations and guidelines
- Work with healthcare providers to ensure accurate charge capture and documentation
- Stay up to date on changes to healthcare regulations and coding guidelines
- Ability to consistently meet or exceed productivity targets
- Ability to handle Protected Health Information in a manner consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel Requirements
- The role may involve working under pressure to meet tight deadlines, managing conflicting priorities, and adapting to changes in project requirements.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
