CAT Scan Technician
Pay Rate : $67.85
Role Summary
We are seeking a CAT Scan Tech. who is required to perform all tasks as required by the coordinator and lead staff. To prepare equipment and supplies for specific procedures and ensure patients' physical and psychological comfort. Maintains specific inventory records and ensures the area is stocked with adequate supplies. coordinates the schedule of daily exams and any additional responsibilities if any.
Key Results Area
- The CT technologist will demonstrate professionalism and service excellence when performing the following tasks. Obtains necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies for specific procedures according to established protocols. Maintains sterility of field and instruments. Correctly prepares requisitions. (professionalism and service excellence)
- Communicate to and involve the patient and family before, during, and after the procedure to alleviate anxiety while maintaining the privacy and dignity of the patient. The technologist will adhere to all HIPPA regulations and respect the patient's privacy. Verifies patient identification according to the AHS policy. Observe the patients condition before and after contrast injections and report any sudden change to the nursing staff and Radiologist. Ensures availability of medical records, previous reports, labs, and history of the patient. Can begin emergency response in case of complication.
- Maintains adequate linen supplies in each scanning room. Maintains adequate contrast media and biopsy / drainage supplies in each scanning room. Adheres to room assignments (CT 1,2 and 3). Assists in maintaining CT storeroom, and outside inventory. Participates in daily inventory and stocking of supplies. Notifies Lead of expired or soon-to-expire equipment or medications. Cleans and inventory supplies. Participates in the routine cleaning of the CT gantry, table, and peripheral equipment after each use.
The point staff will perform the following tasks while displaying involvement in patient care, professionalism, and respect for other staff and patients : When assigned as Point, triage procedures according to the daily schedule Ensure timely coordination of all emergency and unscheduled procedure requests. Assigns staff to ensure efficient workflow while maintaining an environment of patient safety. Maintains workflow within the section to coordinate emergent and unscheduled procedure requests within the schedule. Communicate with all departments and floors regarding patient status. Ensures immediate patient transport post-procedure.
