Cath Lab Nurse
Role Summary
Our client seeks a Cath Lab Nurse to join their rapidly growing team. The ideal candidate has worked with Epic and Change Healthcare previously and has experience working in a Cath Lab working on Radiology, Pacemakers, and Vascular.
Key Results Area
Has competent knowledge of all the normal stages of growth and development from pediatric to geriatric and delivers patient care appropriately. Performs thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive, and accurate
Consistently demonstrates competent clinical skills/ performs direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept
Provides competent and appropriate nursing care to the patients in unit
Demonstrates knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures
Maintains complete and accurate documentation as well as knowledge of documentation guidelines
Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures and can identify areas for clinical and professional growth
Consistently responds to patients, families and co-workers in a professional, courteous, positive manner to promotes an environment where the patient and family is at the center and the patient care team works cooperatively toward their goal and objectives. Maintains confidentiality according to HIPPA guidelines
Consistently follows the National Patient Safety Goals including following Universal protocol and identifying patients utilizing two patient identifiers
Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment encountered for surgical patients.
Individualizes patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia across the continuum of care
Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedure and instructions
Contributes to the perioperative team by assuming responsibility and accountability for directing patient care by prioritizing the care of the patients depending on their needs
Performs per-operative and post-operative assessment and education for both patients and families
Evaluates pre-admission testing orders for appropriateness and for potential omissions based on the proposed surgery, patient age, and current state of health
Skills & Qualification
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an Associates or Bachelors degree
Minimum of two years of critical care experience
Must have a current RN license
ACLS is required
Must have experience circulating and experience at monitoring is a plus
Previous experience with TEE and CV procedures are a plus
