Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving Operations:
- Supervise and coordinate the receipt of all inbound shipments, including verifying delivery accuracy against purchase orders.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and escalate issues as necessary.
- Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and documentation of received goods.
- Inventory Management:
- Work closely with inventory teams to ensure accurate recording of incoming materials in the warehouse management system.
- Conduct periodic audits to reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Assist in identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Team Membership:
- Provide training, guidance, and support to receiving support personnel to ensure high performance and adherence to procedures.
- Foster a positive team environment that emphasizes safety, accountability, and teamwork.
- Vendor Coordination:
- Communicate with vendors and carriers to resolve delivery issues or delays.
- Manage return processes for damaged or incorrect shipments in collaboration with procurement teams.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Ensure team members follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of equipment and materials.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in logistics or supply chain management preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse receiving or a similar role, with at least 1 year in a leadership capacity.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in receiving and recording inventory.
- Leadership: Guide and inspire a team to meet operational goals.
- Adaptability: Handle high-pressure situations and shifting priorities effectively.
- Communication: Liaise effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal teams.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and operating warehouse equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- May be required to work additional hours or weekends during peak periods.
