Job Title: RN Cath Lab
Pay Rate: $75-$78 Per Hour
Location: Pompton Plains, NJ,
Schedule: 10-hour shifts, varying start times. The usual is 7a but could vary between 6a-8a. On-call requirement approx. 10-15 days per month- could be a little more or a little less. Includes approximately 2 weekends on call per month.
Must have Cath Lab experience and be helpful if have done Interventional Radiology, Pacemakers, Vascular.
- Helpful if worked with Epic and Change Healthcare/McKesson CVIS
- Must have experience circulating and helpful if experienced at monitoring
- Includes working also in Pre/Post Cath Lab area
- Helpful if experienced with TEE and CV procedures etc.
Job Duties:
- Assessment skills. Has competent knowledge of all the normal stages of growth and development from Pediatric to Geriatric and delivers patient care appropriately. Performs thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive, and correct.
- Consistently proves competent clinical skills. Performs direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept. Provides competent and proper nursing care to the population of the unit. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in emergency equipment and procedures.
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation. Demonstrates knowledge of documentation guidelines. Assumes primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patient's progress toward meeting outcomes in the patient's chart including patient education.
- Demonstrates professional practice responsibility. Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures and can identify areas for clinical and professional growth.
- Consistently responds to patients/families and co-workers in a professional, courteous, positive manner to promote an environment where the patient and family is at the center and the patient care team works cooperatively toward their goals and aims. Maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
- Consistently follows the National Patient Safety Goals including following Universal Protocol and identifying patients is utilizing 2 patient identifiers. Demonstrates use of safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for self, and patients.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures, and equipment encountered by surgical patients. Individualizes patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia across the continuum of care. Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedure/instructions.
- Contributes to the perioperative team by assuming responsibility and accountability for directing patient care by prioritizing the care of patients depending on their needs and any changes in their condition.
- Assesses patient's understanding of surgical procedure/instructions, actively including the patient and family members in teaching. Performs pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education.
- Supports the completion of patient testing in a timely manner. Evaluate pre-admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and for potential omissions based on proposed surgery, patient age, and current state of health.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
2 years critical care experience - required RN License - Required BLS - Required ACLS - Required
Required Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing associate or bachelor's Degree - Preferred
