Company Overview
Advent Group Ministries is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Counseling Services to join our leadership team. In this key role, you will provide essential supervision, guidance, and support to trainees, associates, and licensed clinicians—helping them grow professionally and deliver high-quality care to clients. You will also maintain a small caseload of clients to stay connected to the direct work we do.
Purpose:
The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing the overall clinical operations of the organization or department. This includes ensuring quality of care, supporting staff development, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and driving clinical excellence throughout the agency.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as an active member of Advent’s leadership team.
- Foster collaboration with internal departments, external partners, and community stakeholders to strengthen service delivery.
- Represent the organization at community meetings and events as appropriate.
Program Oversight & Development
- Oversee all aspects of the Counseling Services department, including staffing, training, and program execution.
- Develop, evaluate, and implement new programs and services based on community needs and best practices.
- Manage department operations to ensure alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
Supervision & Staff Development
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and supervise clinical staff, interns, and trainees.
- Provide clinical supervision to licensed and pre-licensed staff as required by BBS and licensure standards.
- Offer in-service training and lead staff meetings (or delegate as needed).
- Supervise evening receptionist staff and manage referral assignment processes.
Client Services
- Carry a small caseload of up to 10 clients per week.
- Provide individual and group therapy to youth facing issues such as abuse and addiction.
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans that promote healing and growth.
- Maintain a weekly counseling schedule and maximize facility usage.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all clinical services meet legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed on clinical best practices, emerging strategies, and legal/ethical changes affecting the field.
- Supervise contracted clinicians and consultants as needed.
Data & Reporting
- Prepare monthly reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors on clinical services, outcomes, and revenue.
- Monitor and analyze clinical data, including:
- Client caseloads and demographics
- Length of services, success rates, and trends
- Referral sources and patterns
- Revenue from contracts and reimbursements
- Budget expenditures and resource allocation
Budget & Administration
- Oversee clinical program budgeting and ensure effective allocation of resources.
- Collaborate with leadership on financial planning related to counseling services.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, or related field (required).
- Licensed or license-eligible in California (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC).
- Strong clinical background in behavioral health, with a focus on youth and family systems.
- Proven experience in clinical supervision, program development, and team leadership.
- Knowledge of BBS standards and clinical compliance requirements.
- Strong administrative skills, including budgeting and strategic planning.
- Ability to inspire and motivate staff toward professional and personal growth.
