What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Advent Neurology SC?
You will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support the doctor and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management and communication.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and reschedule appointments
- Handle phone calls and patient communications in a professional, congenial manner
- Manage patient activities such as insurance verification, prior authorization, patient check-in and check-out, copay and patient balance collections
- Communicate with hospitals, physicians and other providers in a professional manner
- Assist with maintaining medical records in EMR software (eClinicalWorks)
- Scan and fax records in accordance with HIPAA requirements
- Prepare and maintain clean work environment and patient rooms
- Maintain patient communications regarding their lab tests and referrals
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills
- Minimum of Associate degree
- Familiarity with medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
- Good time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Experience in front desk operations
- Pleasant demeanor and commitment to healthcare
This position is ideal for someone looking to continue their education in medical field (PA, MD, research etc.). The candidate should be available for 25-30 hours per week, Monday-Friday, between 10 am and 5 pm.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
