Advent Talent Group is seeking a compassionate Suicide Prevention Call Specialist to join our client’s 988 Suicide Prevention Lifeline team. In this crucial role, you will provide emotional support, crisis counseling, and conduct suicide risk assessments for individuals in distress. Using established crisis intervention tools and techniques, you will assess risk, develop personalized safety plans, and offer ongoing support to callers. Your work will help foster a culture of empathy, collaboration, and continuous learning, ensuring the highest standard of care for individuals in crisis.
This role is based in Minnesota. Only applicants currently residing in Minnesota will be considered
Overview :
- 27.50 / hr. with shift differentials for late evening, overnight, and weekend shifts
- Remote – including training

Provide compassionate, non-judgmental support, assess suicide risk, implement safety plans, and conduct thorough risk assessments with appropriate interventions.Maintain clear, accurate documentation using the database, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.Efficiently manage multi-line phone systems, prioritizing calls based on urgency and risk level.Request emergency services as necessary to safeguard caller well-being.Collaborate with callers to develop coping strategies, promoting resilience and long-term mental health recovery.Participate in ongoing training and workshops on suicide prevention, crisis intervention, and mental health best practices.Stay informed on evolving crisis intervention methodologies, mental health resources, and relevant legislation to provide the highest standard of care.Qualifications :
Minimum of 2 years' experience in community services, crisis counseling, or suicide prevention (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related behavioral science field preferred.Strong knowledge of mental health conditions, crisis intervention techniques, and suicide prevention.Excellent interpersonal and empathy-driven communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain supportive conversations with individuals in emotional distress.Ability to manage crises calmly and effectively, even in high-stress situations.Proficient in basic computer use, including navigating web-based databases and multi-line phone systems.Familiarity with HIPAA and confidentiality protocols.Fluency in Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or other languages is highly preferred to effectively serve diverse communities.Eligible employees will enjoy the following benefits with Advent Talent Group :
