The role you’ll contribute: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs examinations according to established protocols while rendering safe and compassionate care to the patient. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is to assist the physician and/or other clinical staff in performing procedures by utilizing the skills and equipment specific to their profession.

- Capable of handling various aspects of the job simultaneously while maintaining a calm outward appearance.
- Possesses/demonstrates knowledge of emergency codes, location of emergency equipment and method of activation.
- Maintains radiation protection standards for patients, employees and oneself according to ALARA principles.
- Knowledge of all aspects of General Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology & PET/CT exams including therapeutic protocols/procedures, SPECT CT imaging and QA as required on all imaging and ancillary equipment.
- Provides excellent customer service to our patients, physicians & offices.
- Maintains required credentials, licenses, and certifications within required renewal dates.
- Assists physicians in performance of exams/procedures in and out of the Nuclear Medicine department.
- Performs duties in compliance with universal precaution, infection control, medical records charting/documentation and patient safety requirements.
- Maintains department standards for on-call coverage.
- Alleviates patient anxiety and empathizes with patients in a caring manner.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Required
- Graduate of AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Technologist program.
- State of Florida Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist License
- (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer
- NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Hospital clinical experience
- NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech NMTCB advanced certification in Cardiac or PET imaging
