Schedule: Part-Time Nights

Shift : Monday - Thursday, 10pm - 5:30am and Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 8:30AM -5:30PM

Location: Apopka

• AdventHealth Apopka is a seven-story, 120-bed hospital offering an extensive range of services including expanded surgical services, advanced surgical suites and a catheterization lab
• The hospital also features a 30,000-square-foot emergency department with pediatric-friendly beds, imaging services, a full-service cafeteria, chapel, gift shop and on-site fire station
• The hospital opened in December 2017, replacing the 50-bed hospital that AdventHealth had operated in downtown Apopka for more than four decades
  
  

The Role You’ll Contribute

The Paramedic role provides patients with support treatment, care, and evaluations prior to and during transportation.

• Ensure MRI safety within the MRI department
• Assist Imaging Technologists with exams: positioning patients, room turnover, transportation of patients
• Assist with placement of IVs
• Facilitate efficient workflow within the department
• Ensure supplies are stocked
  
  

The Value You’ll Bring To The Team

• Provides primary patient care activities on transports approved to be at the ALS level by the EMS Medical Director
• Assesses, plans, implements intervention, and evaluates the appropriate level of patient care according to Florida ALS
  
  

scope of practice, EMS Protocols, department policies and procedures including the following:

• Chronic Ventilator Support
• BiPAP/CPAP
• Nebulized Medications in handheld or mask nebulizers
• Non-invasive Monitoring (EKG, SpO2, NIBP, EtCO2)
• Transcutaneous Pacer Support
• Non-titratable infusions
• Blood Products
• Previously established Chest Tubes, drains, tubes, ostomies, wound vac
• Previously accessed ports established central venous lines, arterial sheaths, and temporary dialysis catheters.
• Inter-Osseous Placement/Established Access (IO)
• Non-intubated/Mechanically Ventilated post arrest patients.
• Advanced Airway Providers, ETT, LMA with manual/temporary ventilatory support, No RSI.
• All BLS Therapies as defined by department protocols
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions and treatments, as appropriate
• Educates patients and family members about patient illnesses and clinical intervention
• Principle Duties:
• Ensure MRI safety within the MRI department
• Assist Imaging Technologists with exams
• Positioning patients in imaging
• Room turnover
• Transportation of patients on monitors
• Assist with placement of IVs as needed
• Facilitate efficient workflow within the department
• Ensure supplies are stocked
• Monitor pacemaker patients
• Any other imaging department needs.
  
  

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• One year of medical emergency experience
• Graduate from a Paramedic program
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
• Basic Life Support - CPR Certification
• Licensed Paramedic
