Research Psychometrist – AdventHealth Orlando

The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Orlando
The Research Psychometrist is responsible for conducting inpatient and/or outpatient assessments of research participants that are cognitively healthy or with a variety of developmental, medical, and neurological conditions, as part of industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials. Assessments will be completed in accordance with trial protocols, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, and International Conference on Harmonization/Good Clinical Practices (ICH/GCP) guidelines. In this role, the research psychometrist collaborates with Principal Investigators, Clinical Neuropsychologists, study sponsors, and other research and clinical team members. The research psychometrist will perform activities including administering and scoring neuropsychological tests, as well as research participant recruitment, screening, and consenting, providing concierge-level service for all participant-facing interactions during the course of clinical trials and research studies.
The Value You’ll Bring To The Team
Effectively performs standardized administration and scoring of a wide range of psychological and neuropsychological tests
Establishes and maintains an appropriate testing environment for administering tests in a variety of settings
Scores all tests administered, documents behavioral observations, and provides a brief summary of results
Provides a core service to score and interpret tests administered by other research sites, as deemed necessary for research projects
Through collaboration with other research team members, ensures compliant data entry/data mining into registries, patient records, and research specific database systems and other portals necessary for the specifics of the testing administered
Participate in sponsor/CRO/PI-mandated training on tests used in specific research trials and demonstrate proficiency in administering these tests, as determined by the sponsor/CRO/PI
Attend and participate in team meetings
May instruct trainees in proper test administration and reviews the work of trainees for accuracy to ensure assessments are conducted properly and completely (may require travel)
Conducts in-service training for all new assessment tools or scoring programs as they are introduced into the environment
Collaborates with scientists, psychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, physicians, and other study team members to provide consultations and implement research protocols
Assists in coordination of ongoing research activities including meeting with study investigators, site monitors, and other study team members in-person and remotely via phone and video call, subject recruitment and scheduling, and completion of required data elements for the conduct of the study
Execute the informed consent process for AdventHealth Research Institute participants in clinical trials and research studies across multiple locations. This may require travel between sites, and/or the use of technology
Provision of concierge level service for all patient facing interactions during the course of clinical trials and research studies
Assists Principal Investigators and research staff in the development of compliant research protocols and other control documents
Collaborate with clinical research supervisors and staff to implement standard operating procedures (SOP) for the Institutes research division intended to meet standards. Ensures all patient-facing activities are compliant with clinical research standards and AHRI procedures.
Attend Investigator Meetings as determined by study sponsors (may require travel)
Maintain sensitivity to cost containment measures by conserving hospital supplies, equipment, and human resources while overseeing proposed project budgets from internal and external funding sources

- Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related field OR
- 3 years of experience in the administration of neuropsychological tests
- Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related field
- Experience administering neuropsychological tests as part of research trials
