The Role You’ll Contribute
The Respiratory Therapist provides direct respiratory care to patients in all areas of the hospital as outlined in Pulmonary Services procedure manual. Is knowledgeable in providing and evaluating the routine as well as critical care modes of respiratory care. Responsible for the effective and optimal administration of modalities based upon assessment and evaluation. Provides recommendations and/or changes to care based on patient’s current status.

- 244,000 square feet
- Capacity for 98 total beds (44 on opening and 54 slated for future expansion)
- Four operating rooms (two upon opening and two slated for future dates)
The Role You’ll Contribute
The Respiratory Therapist provides direct respiratory care to patients in all areas of the hospital as outlined in Pulmonary Services procedure manual. Is knowledgeable in providing and evaluating the routine as well as critical care modes of respiratory care. Responsible for the effective and optimal administration of modalities based upon assessment and evaluation. Provides recommendations and/or changes to care based on patient’s current status.
The Value You’ll Bring To The Team
- Prepares associates work schedule to ensure appropriate staffing is provided,
- Facilitate any issues that may arise during shift report to ensure all information is communicated appropriately.
- Supports departmental and organizational change,
- Assists in the material management process to ensure appropriate products are being used which this includes meeting with our vendors
- Assist in interviewing and hiring associates.
- Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action,
- Responds to emergency situations immediately, performs appropriate patient assessment and intervention and replaces emergency supplies in a timely manner,
- Maintains hospital and departmental competency documentation in all required areas,
- Performs respiratory care procedures according to physician orders, department policy/procedure, and patient care plan,
- Follows the “Standard of Behaviors” guidelines according to hospital policy,
- Make sure all facilitators are being consistent when making decisions about staffing,
- Assist in finding solutions to problems that staff brings to your attention,
- Assist the Director in Process Improvement initiatives in the department to help improve our services
- Rotates management call,
- Assist in the disciplinary counseling,
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
- Associate’s Degree or Graduate of a Technical School required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Up to 1 Year of Experience required
- 2 years clinical experience for new grads acceptable in lieu of 1 year of work experience
- Kansas Respiratory Therapist License
- BLS through American Heart Association
- NRP if working in NICU
- STABLE preferred
- ACLS through American Heart Association preferred
