The role you ’ll contribute :
Under the general supervision of the Regional Outpatient Coding/APC Manager, the Coding Supervisor is responsible for assisting the manager with the operational oversight of the outpatient coding team which includes Emergency Department, Same Day Surgery and Observation. Supervisor responsibilities will include day-to-day functions, new hire onboarding, new hire training, team member evaluations, quality and productivity performance monitoring, and coding of accounts as needed. Participation in process improvement to successfully maintain ethical coding guidelines and ensure coding standards set forth by AdventHealth and the Revenue Cycle leadership are met. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility for maintaining equally professional and respectful relationships.

- Thorough knowledge of Medicare reimbursement methodology, documentation guidelines, data abstraction, and encoder functionality.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; proficient in and demonstrate excellent physician relations.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Encoder software.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Comprehensive knowledge of coding functions, rules, and guidelines as they relate to outpatient coding requirements.
The expertise and e xperiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications :
- Associate of Science Degree in Health Information Technology with RHIT registration Required or Associate of Science Degree with CCS certification Required
- 5 years of outpatient acute care coding experience Required
