The Regional Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a strategic leader responsible for advancing clinical practice and patient safety across AdventHealth's regional network of hospitals, physician practices, ambulatory services, and post-acute facilities. This role fosters collaboration between the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to ensure effective care integration, including case management, care navigation, and clinical documentation integrity.
The CNO reports directly to the Regional Chief Executive Officer for AdventHealth Great Lakes Region and has responsibility for regional coordination of Chief Nursing Officers in the region. Key responsibilities include performance improvement, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, and nursing education. Additionally, this role oversees regional accountability for clinical workforce planning and succession planning, working collaboratively with the regional Chief People Officer to develop academic partnerships and strengthen the pipeline of clinicians.
This position requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to articulate clinical strategy and align regional initiatives with the AdventHealth vision. The successful candidate will promote consistency of clinical practice across the region, ensuring physicians and nurses partner in care redesign and clinical integration activities to improve clinical outcomes.
Other key responsibilities include developing academic practice partnerships to support future workforce development and robust recruitment strategies for physicians, nurses, and clinicians. The CNO will also collaborate with the region CIO to establish processes supporting the identification of technology for clinical integration and optimization of the electronic health record.
