Shift: PRN Days
The role you’ll contribute: Supports operating room staff by maintaining a safe environment and delivering quality patient care.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Coordinates patient transportation between operating rooms and other locations
- Assists nursing staff with patient care by positioning and transferring anesthetized patients and supporting limbs during surgical skin preps
- When assisting patient, staff is aware of the sterile boundaries within the operating room when supplies are opened
- Delivers specimens and blood products to labs
- Ensures stretchers and oxygen tanks are readily available for patient transport
- Maintains surgical machines/equipment and prepares operating suites
- May assist in delivery of medications
- Efficient and organized in skills to assist team with safe and appropriate turnovers. Utilizes knowledge of cleaning protocols for all types of specialty surgical equipment
- Can articulate department goals and metrics for first cases starts and turnover times and contributes ideas for improvement
- Performs terminal cleaning of operating rooms as assigned
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- High School Education or equivalent
- One year of technical experience (Preferred)
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work with nursing staff, patients, and families
