Respiratory Therapist Job Description
Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting. The Respiratory Therapist will assess patient needs, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide education to patients and families.
Job Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and develop treatment plans to meet those needs.
- Provide respiratory care to patients including oxygen therapy, ventilation, and aerosol therapy.
- Educate patients and families on proper breathing techniques and use of respiratory equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure effective patient care.
- Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on respiratory equipment.
Requirements
- Graduate from a Respiratory Therapy program.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
- NRP must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Current Florida State License as an RRT/Registered Respiratory Therapist.
