The role you’ll contribute:
The Director of Environmental Services maintains the highest possible standard of cleanliness and customer satisfaction at AdventHealth Hendersonville and AdventHealth Polk. The Director of EVS will develop relationships with all levels of leadership to deploy quality, cleaning methodologies consistent with the Joint Commission environment of care standards. He/she will connect and build enduring relationship with EVS team members to foster an engaged work environment and provide ongoing evidence-based sanitary training that delivers results. Plans, organizes, and controls Environment of care activities that will ensure the safety, health and morale of patients, visitors, and team members.

- Actively leads and participates in strategic planning for the department and manages the plan to achieve department goals, regulatory compliance, and objectives consistent with organizational vision and direction of services.
- Creates, manages and analyzes annual budgets for revenue, labor and non-labor expenses and optimize staffing effectiveness while achieving economies of scale.
- Establishes and maintains customer satisfaction at a level that ensures the highest quality service.
- Provides consistent improvement in patient satisfaction survey results.
Leadership and Managerial Skills
- Demonstrates a proactive and enthusiastic attitude in striving for and meeting goals and objectives.
- Maintains high levels of employee engagement and job performance by providing recognition and opportunities for learning.
Program Quality and Operations
- Plan, organize and delegate activities as required for the safe, efficient and effective operation of the department including active participation with other hospital and leadership staff to accomplish this objective.
- Develop and oversees the implementation of policies, procedures, and standards that aligns department operations with regulatory guidelines.
- Actively incorporate measures to obtain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and requirements.
- Identify and utilize processes and resources that support optimal delivery of data and information to leadership team and staff.
Financial
- Develops a business plan and budget with the Administrator and Finance.
- Develops financial forecasts and balances program and resources.
- Monitor and control expenses.
- Responsible for attainment of expense management.
- Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of data, both financial and statistical.
- Recommends capital requirements to maximize financial returns.
- Assists in development of future contract financial review and updates.
- Responsible for productivity and staffing, utilizing Labor Optimization Tools.
Continuous Improvement
- Use benchmark data from internal and external sources to identify opportunities for improvement of care and patient safety.
- Identify key performance indicators that need to be monitored and evaluated.
- Develop, monitor and evaluate systems that improve organizational performance.
- Collaborate with nurses providing direct patient care and members of other disciplines at all levels in the development, implementation, and evaluation of program and services.
Human Resource Management
- Uses independent judgment to hire new employees and in applicant evaluation.
- Uses independent judgment to terminate supervised employees in partnership with employee relations and in accordance with policies, rules and procedures.
- Responsibly directs, monitors and corrects employees in the performance of job duties in order to ensure adequate performance and quality of work.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five years of management experience
- Minimum of five years of Environmental Services experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED :
Driver’s license
