The role you’ll contribute:
The Referral Coordinator is responsible for receiving incoming referral requests from internal and external sources for patients to be scheduled for Cancer Services. The Referral Coordinator will collaborate with physicians, navigators, and schedulers within all four cancer centers to prioritize and schedule patients in a timely manner. The Referral Coordinator will be responsible for obtaining correct and comprehensive records required to register the patient and prepare for first office visit. This requires developing and maintaining positive relationships with physician offices, patients, and facilities while actively demonstrating outstanding customer service.

- Responds to all referrals within one to two business days.
- Obtain and enter EMR demographic and medical records/tests/scans/results necessary for first office visit.
- Ensures verification of benefits has been obtained and clearly documented in EMR.
- Collaborates with navigators, schedulers, physicians, and office staff.
- Notifies patients, physicians, and support staff with changes impacting the schedule.
- Answers the telephone in a professional and polite manner, communicate information to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to voicemail messages promptly.
- Update information in the EMR as necessary.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous medical office background
- Medical terminology experience
