Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:
- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
- Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
- Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
- Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses and assessment of changes.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patients served. Able to interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
- 2-year Associate Degree
- Experience (before hire) 3 years minimum of ER experience in a hospital
- Current CPR within one month of hire
- ACLS within six months of hire
- PALS within one year of hire
- TNCC within one year of hire
- Cardiac dysrhythmia class within 90 days of hire or demonstrates proficiency in cardiac rhythm recognition
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 6 months of hire
- RN
- Current Kansas State Nursing License
Job Summary:
Licensed registered nurse provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department, performing general nursing duties. Shares accountability with Emergency Services Director for effective organization and function of the Emergency Department on a 24 hour/ 7 day a week basis and collaborates with nursing and other health care personnel for safe and effective patient care for all age groups of patients.
