The role you’ll contribute:
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures locks and unlocks doors, assists in the Emergency Department, remains alert for fire and safety hazards, controls access into the facility, responds to all emergency codes and helps enforce hospital policies. Performs similar duties to provide a safe and secure hospital environment for patients, employees, and visitors.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Patrols hospital building and grounds according to established round schedule in order to detect and prevent theft, vandalism, fire, and other threats to hospital security. Records time of patrols. Reports potential hazardous conditions and suspicious activities to the appropriate department or supervisor.
- Makes periodic unscheduled rounds. Checks all fire alarm and fire extinguishers and reports need for maintenance or replacement.
- Monitors hospital facilities through use of security cameras. Notes suspicious activity and responds to unusual or potential dangerous conditions.
- Ensures that all doors are locked and areas secured as required. Unlocks areas according to the predetermined schedule or at the request of authorized personnel.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- High School Grad or Equiv and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role
- Applicable state driver's license and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth policy
- Meets departmental testing (Mental, Physical, etc.) if applicable to facility
