The role you’ll contribute:
This position is responsible for meeting the daily supply needs of the Operating Room (OR). This includes supply replenishment for any par locations in the OR, picking scheduled cases, and providing supplies for any emergent needs that may arise.
This role serves as a representative of supply chain to clinicians within the OR; as such, this role must be attentive to providing excellent customer service to clinical staff and leadership while working collaboratively with other Supply Chain peers to support surgical operations. The Supply Chain OR Tech is responsible to ensure that supplies are organized and available for surgical procedures. This involves keeping supply areas clean, supplies organized and accessible, inventory levels maintained within the established par levels, supplies rotated to prevent expired product, and consignment clearly labeled and organized.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Performs daily par cart inventories: picks orders, confirms orders, and delivers supplies to assigned par areas. Provides feedback on par level adjustments to supply chain and clinical leadership.
- Perform case cart picking one day in advance of the scheduled case to allow for schedule changes and follow up for any potential missing items. Care should be given to the preference card instructions to ensure supplies and equipment are separated according to the instructions provided.
- Prioritize routine work around emergent cases that may arise within the OR.
- Establishes effective relationships with clinicians in assigned areas to ensure collaboration between clinical departments and supply chain.
- Coordinate with supply chain team to provide feedback on preference card updates.
- Review OR schedule and communicates and discrepancies.
- Proactively identifies any stock-out risks and coordinates with the supply chain team to resolve.
- Picks up return items following established guidelines.
- Ensures par areas are orderly, properly tagged and sufficiently stocked to meet customer needs.
- Properly disburses all materials to various locations in the department as assigned in a timely manner following any established route and schedule. Special attention is given to refrigerated supplies and overnight packages.
- Maintains assigned areas in clean, safe and organized manner.
- Accurately completes the replenishment/picking process completing all associated computer software tasks to ensure accurate record keeping.
