The role you’ll contribute:
The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for the supervision of the maintenance staff and monitors performance of their assigned responsibilities. Manager is responsible for day to day operations and customer service at our AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, Lenexa, and South Overland Park locations. Performs and/or directs the performance of all maintenance departmental service requests, ensuring that the work performed in these areas is accomplished efficiently, neatly and with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience. Checks malfunctioning equipment and ascertains corrective action required to restore to satisfactory operating condition. Manages departmental staff, including selection, scheduling and job assignments, counseling, appraisals and recognition, promotional, disciplinary, termination and other personnel actions. This position will be actively involved in Environment of Care, Emergency Management and Life Safety Code. This position must maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory surveys, Joint Commission and other client based audits that are applicable to their assigned facility or facilities.

- Provides training and support and aims to expand the capabilities of operations staff.
- Responsible for scheduling and coordinating in-house repairs, shut downs and maintenance of non-medical equipment with vendors and contractors.
- Directs the performance of contracted maintenance
- Financial Management – will assist the Facilities Director in planning and forecasting budgets for operation and maintenance,will recommend and provide estimated costs for facility repairs and improvements
- Energy Management – implements programs to reduce energy and water consumption and tracks performance.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or business management
- 5 Years of Hospital Facility Management, or Plant Operations or Engineering or Maintenance Supervision
- Valid Driver’s License
- Extensive knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care standards and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written comnication skills, including report writing ability.
- Special knowledge and skills - Exposure to HVAC, mechanical systems, and electrical systems.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office and Outlook email.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA
- Familiar with NIMS and NICS
- Certified Healthcare Facility Manager or Certified Plant Maintenance Manager or Certified Facility Manager
