The Materials Manager is a professional individual who is responsible for ensuring that all supplies and equipment necessary for daily operations and patient care is provided for in accordance with the center’s policies and procedures and established standards.
The Materials Manager ensures that inventory item par levels are maintained and replaced in a timely manner. The manager is responsible for price negotiations with all vendors, inventory management through quarterly inventories, inventory control reduction and continuous management of pricing in adherence with contracts. The manager is responsible for monthly expiration date checks and cost saving initiatives. The manager also directs and assists in the distribution of deliveries using the first-in, first-out method. The materials manager must have knowledge of inventory control and methodology.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school Diploma or equivalent
College Degree (preferred)
Computer Knowledge
Two (2) years’ experience (preferred)
Experience
Experience where progressive leadership, administrative and clinical competencies have been demonstrated. Must have negotiating skills, accounting knowledge, including computer skills and good interpersonal skills. General working knowledge and experience in a Surgery Center is preferred with a of minimum of two years’ experience with inventory/materials management.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to move upper extremities within full range of motion as well as stoop and bend at 90 degrees. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

The Materials Manager is responsible for the purchasing of materials in the facility to ensure that inventory item par levels are maintained and replaced in a timely manner. Assists in the daily maintenance of the department. Demonstrates dependability and accountability. Utilizes interpersonal skills in an effective manner.

Pay: $18.91 - $29.87 per hour
