Duties and Responsibilities
Among other duties and responsibilities, the Chief Academic Officer is expected to perform the following :
- Provide academic leadership for the university, in harmony with the mission and values of the institution and the philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist education.
- Collaborate with campus leadership on strategic planning and its implementation.
- Affirm the Seventh-day Adventist faith throughout the academic process.
- Supervise curriculum planning and program development and ensure the integrity and excellence of academic programs.
- Oversee faculty recruitment, appointment, development, promotion, and tenure.
- Oversee assessment of academic programs and their faculty.
- Coordinate the university’s relationships with accrediting bodies.
- Encourage and strengthen individual and institutional research and creative scholarship efforts.
- Oversee the development and optimization of institutional libraries and other learning resources.
- Oversee the development, publication, and application of the University Bulletin and academic policies.
Required ExperienceSupervisory Responsibilities
The following individuals report to the CAO : the associate and assistant academic VPs, all academic deans, the registrar, and the principals of Andrews Academy and RMES.

Work Environment
Regular office environment with normal office physical demands, walking around campus, and capacity for travel, locally and internationally.
