Job Requirements
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Five years' relevant experience: Preferred
- Three years' marketing or program coordination experience: Preferred
- Collaborates with hospice operation directors to design volunteer training, in adherence with Medicare/NHPCO standards and other applicable regulatory bodies. Discusses and organizes volunteer trainings in an effective and efficient manner. Evaluates sessions and utilizes data to improve future trainings. Screens applications and interviews potential volunteer candidates. Collaborates with hospice operation directors to design organized, methodical and effective volunteer selection processes. Possesses skills necessary to conduct thorough and professional interviews. Conducts interviews using standardized formats. Coordinates and participates in training programs, continuing education and volunteer support groups.
- Assesses volunteer program processes continuously and implements changes to facilitate growth and improvement. Maintains volunteer staff records and personnel files. Oversees timely collection, storage and retrieval of volunteer data, including monthly, quarterly and annual reports, progress notes, evaluations, TB test results and criminal background checks. Assists with volunteer program budget planning and operates within the budget. Attends scheduled interdisciplinary team patient care conferences and designates volunteer program representatives to attend. Provides team members with pertinent information regarding volunteers. Participates in problem solving discussions. Develops and updates care plans with volunteer goals, interventions and outcomes.
- Maintains communication with volunteers and keeps volunteers informed. Provides support to volunteers on a regular basis and when difficulties arise. Tracks volunteer schedules and availability. Monitors volunteer burnout, reassigns activities and provides direction. Ensures volunteers remain in compliance with state, federal, CHAP and Amber care policies. Adheres to work schedules and maintains punctuality and attendance record.
