Job Summary:
Performs general administrative duties and customer service. Provides communication, information, assistance and coordination for all customer requests. Provides patient care support. Maintains excellent customer service.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- One year physician office, hospital patient registration or patient accounting experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for greeting and registering patients, ensuring completion of required patient documents, updating patient demographic, insurance and financial information, providing copies of documents to patients, scheduling patient appointments, completing physician referrals and assisting patients with questions and requests.
- Answers and directs incoming calls and secure messages via the EHR. Schedules patients for appointments. Makes appointment reminder calls. Verifies eligibility for services and collects payment amounts due.
- Organizes patient Outguides for next day appointments noting bad debt, authorization and other pertinent information. Balances patient payments and money box on a daily basis and couriers patient collections to the Business Office safe.
- Follows established clinic policies and procedures, including confidentiality requirements as set forth by HIPAA and Adventist Health.
- Supports an environment of teamwork, professional communication, excellent “customer service” and efficiency.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
