Job Summary:
Provides direct behavioral support to patients at risk of harm to self or others, due to a mental illness, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and leadership. Maintains proper supervision of patients on line of sight, as a room sitter, or one-on-one. Identifies behavior and statements that require intervention by the psychiatric staff.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Experience in direct patient supervision: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Conflict Prevention Management and Resolution (CPMR) Certification, within 6 months of hire: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Assists in therapeutic activities. Ensures that patients take their medications and documents progress in patient treatment plans.
- Monitors patient's physical and mental condition. Transports patients to activities or appointments.
- Documents requirements in accordance with established polices and procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
