Job Summary :
Provides spiritual counseling, support and care in line with beliefs and desires of patients, family members and interdisciplinary team members in times of spiritual distress or crisis.
Job Requirements :
Education and Work Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, spirituality, pastoral ministry or equivalent subject matter accredited from a US Department of Education Approved Organization : Required
- Master of Divinity degree accredited from a US Department of Education Approved Organization : Preferred
Essential Functions :
- Provides pastoral care services on an on-call basis for patients in various situations, such as those undergoing surgical procedures, facing end-of-life issues and following traumatic accidents.
- Provides comfort and support for patient family members and friends.
- Responds to requests for pastoral care in a timely manner.
- Ensures the religious and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones are met. Acts as a spiritual resource for staff.
- Accountable to the organizational mission, core vision and values.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
