Job Summary:
Maintains an acceptable level of cleanliness and an improved aesthetic environment for the Surgical department. Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks. Performs daily and terminal cleaning of operating rooms.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Environmental services experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Performs routine cleaning of operating rooms, nursing units, departments, lobbies, lounges, restrooms corridors, elevators, and stairways.
- Assists Operating Room team with case cart, equipment, and supply needs. Distributes, collects and processes linens. Assists with additional duties such as cryo-machine, autoclave room, ordering food.
- Assists with transport and moving patients. Gets inpatient beds, changes beds and gurneys as needed.
- Sets up rooms based on procedure and surgeon preference with proper equipment, beds and positioning adjuncts.
- Performs terminal cleaning of surgical suites daily; hallways, sterile processing, sterile core, sub-sterile rooms, anesthesia work room, ancillary rooms and other areas weekly.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
