Job Summary:
Designs, develops, implements, and supports solutions for healthcare data integration across the patient care continuum.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Three years' of experience supporting healthcare environment: Preferred
- Related technical work experience, in at least 2 of the 5 following areas: HL7, X12, FHIR or comparable interface development; Infor Cloverleaf Engine interface development; Epic Bridges interface development; software or API development; and Linux command line experience: Required
Licenses/Certifications:
- Epic Certification/Accreditation in area of responsibility: Required
Essential Functions:
- Designs, develops and implements interfaces between healthcare systems, applications, and databases. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into integration architecture. Writes code to handle data transformation, routing, and validation.
- Ensures seamless data exchange across different systems (e.g., EHRs, lab systems, billing systems, health information exchanges), working with HL7, FHIR, X12, or other healthcare data standards. Addresses data mapping, data transformation, and data normalization challenges.
- Conducts integration testing to verify data flow and identify issues. Ensures compliance with organizational security measures, HIPAA, and other healthcare regulations to protect patient data and privacy.
- Monitor integrations, handle updates, and address support issues that arise. Provides rotational on-call support.
- Communicates effectively with stakeholders, including project team members, vendors, users and management. Travels as needed on site to provide support during go-live events and other work-related occasions.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
