Job Summary:
Oversees the scheduling and preparation of patients for all routine and specialty imaging procedures and exams. Manages scheduling staff. Drives department productivity volume.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Five years' relevant experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Oversees the scheduling of all radiology procedures and exams. Approves and facilitates same-day and urgent scheduling requests. Diffuses emotionally-charged customer relations as needed.
- Oversees the orientation, training, scheduling and evaluating of all scheduling staff.
- Collects, reports and maintains scheduling staff productivity data. Drives productivity volume by streamlining department protocols, minimizing caller wait and hold times, facilitating staff development and resolving all scheduling backlogs, barriers or issues.
- Manages clerical workflow, confirming accuracy of data entry, identifying template errors, maintaining books, and ensuring adherence to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
- Serves as a liaison between physician offices, radiology staff, support staff and business offices.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
