Job Summary:
Participates in a clinical preceptorship training opportunity that should not exceed 10 weeks. This role allows students attending a Medical Assistant training program to complete their clinicals in a paid trainee role. Medical Assistants in training may also perform non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife.

Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
Licenses/Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Certification: Required
Essential Functions:
- Actively participates in all educational components of the training program.
- Seeks guidance from instructors and preceptors to enhance skills and competencies related to the Medical Assisting role.
- Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients. Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals, and transfers.
- Obtains vital signs. Reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician. Performs venipunctures as ordered.
- Performs audiometry and vision testing.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
