- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma preferred.
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must have proof of valid, current vehicle insurance.
- LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: A valid California driver's license when travel is required

- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (a): This job requires frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching above shoulders, sitting, walking inclines and declines, standing, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive hand motions. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will occasionally lift boxes and/or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. The employee must demonstrate lifting a 25-pound box from the floor.
- POTENTIAL EXPOSURE TO BLOOD & BODY FLUIDS: Category 3 for potential exposure to blood/body fluids. (Does not require the performance of procedures or other tasks in the work routine that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, and the assisting in cases of emergency medical care or first aid is not a requirement of employment. Tasks that involve handling of implements or utensils, use of the public or shared bathroom facilities, telephones, and personal contacts such as handshaking, are all considered Category 3 tasks.)
Job Roles
Shuttle Driver (AHCL)
- Acts as proactive presence to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction, and takes action as needed for service recovery efforts. Ensures that Transportation Team represents hospital and clinics professionally at all times, and takes a solution oriented approach to challenges.
- Clearly and effectively communicates information with dispatcher.
- Completes and files weekly activity report reflecting metrics of services delivered, and notes any anecdotal performance improvement feedback.
- Maintains and meets expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications and education requirements as outlined by local administration, Adventist Health (AH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and all other regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for collaborative relationships with cohort staff at hospital and clinics, to include daily collaboration with clinic and hospital leadership to address operational challenges and improvements toward enhancing patient access. Responsible for coordinating daily shuttle schedule and staffing, as demand dictates.
- Responsible for ensuring that maintenance of vehicle is performed and scheduled to include: cleaning and servicing vehicle, along with testing equipment, such as lights, horns and windshield wipers to ensure proper operation.
- Safely operates vehicle to transport patients from the hospital to convalescent facilities as requested.
- Safely operates vehicle to transport patients to and from appointments at Health Center as needed.
- Using proper body mechanics, assists disabled patients entering and exiting the van.
- Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned.
