What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sleep Respiratory Care Practitioner, Hanford, Full Time, 12-Hour Night Shift position at Adventist Health?
Located in a tight-knit community in Kings County, Adventist Health Hanford has been serving the Central Valley since 1965. Job Summary:
Performs basic and critical respiratory care services. Has the ability to work well without supervision as well as maintain supervision over others, as delegated. Provides respiratory care services for the adult and geriatric patient. Provides respiratory care for patients within the sleep lab with respiratory disease, as ordered by the physician and in accordance with current department policies concerning all phases of respiratory therapy. Completes paperwork, electronic medical records, flow sheets, and charges for each patient.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor’s): Preferred
- Master's Degree: Preferred
- Two years' Respiratory Therapist and/or sleep lab experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Respiratory Therapy License: Required
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
- State Respiratory Therapist (RCP/RRT): Required
Essential Functions:
- Performs appropriate physiological calibrations to ensure proper signals and make required adjustments.
- Performs data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free. Identifies, corrects and documents artifacts.
- Performs patient education and instruction appropriate for out of center sleep testing.
- Performs routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluation.
- Performs routine positive airway pressure (PAP) interface fitting and desensitization.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
