Job Summary:
Provides spiritual counseling and support, in accordance with patient, family and interdisciplinary team member beliefs and desires. Communicates with and enables the clergy or faith community to support patients and families in their homes. Provides spiritual consultation and education to patients, families and interdisciplinary team members.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in theology, spirituality, pastoral ministry or equivalent subject matter accredited from a US Department of Education Approved Organization: Required
- Master's Degree accredited from a US Department of Education Approved Organization: Preferred
- In the process of completing work at an Adventist Health facility in order to earn units in the Clinical Pastoral Education program recognized by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) or certified by the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP): Required
- Ecclesiastical endorsement from the chaplain’s respective denomination or faith tradition: Required
Essential Functions:
- Provides calming support to angry or distraught family members and friends.
- Maintains patient medical and personal information confidential, including current conditions. Works with individuals from diverse economic, cultural, racial and religious backgrounds. Documents visits and interventions appropriately, according to organizational standards.
- Works with home health staff to enhance sensitivity for the spiritual concerns of patients and families experiencing terminal illness and loss.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Pay Requirements:
The estimated base pay for this position is $66,863 - $100,295. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through years of experience, differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
