Job Summary:
Schedules, assigns and manages the administrative staff in the Perioperative Department/s according to daily needs. Cross-trains staff to function in an administrative capacity for every perioperative setting. Provides administrative support to senior management. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Master's Degree: Preferred
- Five years' technical experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Compiles data, reports and visual management tools. Performs one-on-one rounding and monthly staff meetings for administrative staff. Performs annual evaluations, semi-annual conversations, and 30-60-90 day on-boarding conversations with administrative staff.
- Serves as working supervisor for team or work group using comprehensive knowledge of a seasoned professional. Provides day-to-day technical leadership while performing escalated or complex duties. Uses independent judgment requiring in-depth analysis of variable factors.
- Collaborates with management and top professionals/specialists in selection of methods, techniques, and analytical approach. Provides day-to-day technical oversight to staff; may become actively involved to meet schedules and resolve problems.
- Conducts performance reviews and provides input on direct reports for human resource decisions such as hiring, promotions and disciplinary actions. Participates in the development of employees. Orients and cross-trains administrative staff. Maintains files for all Perioperative departments personnel.
- Maintains responsibility for adherence to budget for specific projects. Participates in the preparation of the department budget.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
